Do hydrangeas just bloom once or all summer?

Thanks!

Do hydrangeas just bloom once or all summer?
They have just one flush of flowers. After the flowers are spent and dry up, that's it until next year. This is the time when they should be pruned, so you don't accidentally prune next years flower buds by pruning late in the season. The plant sets flowers for next year shortly after the bloom is over. The foliage makes for an interesting show piece however..

Reply:i think that depends on which particular hydrangea it is. i believe most bloom all season though.
Reply:Just one time, usually in the middle to latter part of July into the first part of August!

Happy gardening!
Reply:They generally start blooming early in summer or late spring and the blooms can last for months.
