My hydrangea needs help?

I just notice that that parts of my hydrangea plant are covered with small white thingies that look a bit larger than a grain of rice. I think they are the pupa of some kind of insects. I have this plant for years but it's the first time I found something like this. Could someone tell me what to do to get rid of them? Or can I just leave the plant alone and wait for them to go?

Find a Shaklee Distributor in your area and purchase a quart of Basic H. Make sure they provide you with literature on its' many uses, which will include directions on the specific amount to mix with water. It's absolutely fantastic and it won't harm your plant, your health, or the environment.
Reply:Is it too many to pick off? You might take a leaf over to the gardening supply store and show it to the clerk they may be able to identify it and recommend what to do.
Reply:I would buy an insecticide and spray it with that.
